PULSE is our graduation movie realized at Supinfocom Valenciennes this year, with 5 other classmates.

Jonas, an incredibly sensitive boy from a nordic fisherman village comes across a huge dead whale on a beach, harpooned from every side. From now on, his vision of the world can never be the same.

I had the great opportunity to realize and direct PULSE, that I wrote about 2 years ago. Then, I developed the script with a few teachers for a couple of months until the rest of the team joined me. We shared the roles and tasks to do in order to respect everyone's will and to manage every aspect of the movie, as we wanted, without giving up any of them.

On a technical level, I dealt with the rigging (including all of the characters: Jonas, the whale and the seagull), a few props modeling, a few animations, most of the camera movements, the cloth simulation, and several shots in terms of lighting rendering and compositing
. I also took care of the 2D and 3D animatics, including the storyboard, before I edited the movie.

Moreover, writing the scenario made me shoulder the role of project leader, in addition of dealing with an important part of the planning. It was a great experience, where I learnt a lot, by communicating, preparing mondays meeting, fixing deadlines and think a lot about how to achieve our goals without any concessions.

Indeed, PULSE was a great challenge, and most of all an incredible adventure, either for the skills learnt, surpassing oneself, than on a human level.
But most of all it reinforced my ambition to become a director, and keep telling powerful stories about subjects I feel commited to.

Here is the trailer of PULSE, I hope you'll like it!
